Vegan Dinners Tofurky Dinner Party
A Traditional Holiday Dinner An elegant dinner party, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, or Easter, the Tofurky Company creates a round loaf of tofu stuffed with dressing... Tofurky. This is a great product to have on hand for the special occasions or holidays... take the Tofurky Feast to family gatherings so that you have the same menu as the traditional turkey eaters.
There are several ways to serve Tofurky, so check out their web site to get some other ideas.
This recipe is quick and easy so that there is NO STRESS associated with meal planning for the holidays.
I suggest buying 2 extra Tofurky for freezing so that you have them on hand for any special event, like Easter or a birthday party.
Sautéed Onion String Beans Peel and slice a yellow onion into thin strips.
Add 1 tablespoon olive oil to a cast iron skillet over medium heat and add the onion strips... sautéed until golden brown.
Add the frozen or fresh organic string beans to the golden onions and cover with 2 tablespoons water and cover skillet with a lid.
Lift the lid every few minutes and with tongs, flip the beans around and check for tenderness.
String beans generally take several minutes, but turn them off before completely done because they will continue to cook on their own heat.
The Tofurky Roast The Tofurky people have their ideas about how to cook the Tofurky Roast... but I prefer my way. I simply cut the round roast into slices like you were cutting ham slices for pan frying.
Preheat a cast iron skillet over medium high heat and spray it with a non-stick oil spray.
Spray both sides of the Tofurky Roast Slices and arrange them in the bottom of the skillet.
Pan sear both sides until they are brown and hot.
Set the slices aside in the warm skillet.
Rewrap the leftover Tofurky Roast and put back into the refrigerator for the Hot Turkey Sandwiches tomorrow.

Tofurky Giblet & Mushroom Gravy
This rich brown gravy is the perfect topping for the sliced Tofurky Roast.
Made with unbleached flour, expeller pressed canola oil, natural flavors, herbs and spices, this gravy is then packed with diced, Tofurky cubes or "Giblets."
This gravy, which is sold separately or comes with the Tofurky Feast, makes an excellent topping for potatoes, rice or other side dishes any time of the year. It can be heated in a saucepan and I add water to it after it has heated through... add a little water at a time till you get the consistency you like. It's even better when more sautéed mushrooms are included.

I made this last month and didn't have any cranberries in the freezer... but typically I'd have a dollop of my fresh cranberry relish tucked on the side of the dressing.
