Vegan Dinners
Indian restaurants often have items like mock duck that they add to curries for vegans... the problem is that those items are filled with additives that I don't want to consume. So this is my alternative and it tastes better! Ingredients Tools Preparation Rinse the block of tofu under water and place on a clean terry kitchen towel and wrap it around the entire block. Place the wrapped tofu in the refrigerator... best if done the night before cooking. By wicking all the moisture from the tofu, the tofu steak slices will be firmer. After 24 hours, cut the tofu into 6 equal slices to form the steaks.
Tofu Marinade Cover the dish with plastic wrap and put back into the refrigerator. This step can be done the day before or 1/2 hour before cooking. The longer the tofu is left in the marinade, the better the Tandoori flavor in the tofu steaks.
Pan Fry The Tandoori Tofu Steaks Cook each side until the Tandoori coating turns brown. Turn the skillet off and set the pan aside to keep the steaks hot until serving.
