Cuisinart Elite Food Processor
My #1 Kitchen Tool
The NEW Cuisinart Elite Collection 14-Cup Food Processor - Die Cast
Cuisinart Elite 14-Cup Die Cast Metal Food Procesor
The Cuisinart Food Processor was introduced to America in 1973 as a countertop appliance that forever changed food preparation in home kitchens. I was blessed with my first Cuisinart in 1981 as a wedding gift. It was WONDERFUL and I took a class in Marin County, CA from a chef that taught me all kinds of techniques that made using my new Cuisinart a delight and a huge time saver.

In 2009, Cuisinart released what I consider the Rolls Royce of Food Processors! The New Cuisinart 14-Cup Elite Die Cast Metal Food Processor offers a ground-breaking set of improvements that make my 1981 model whimper in the corner! Its hard to pick a favorite feature, but I think the Spill proof Seal Tight Gasket is a real winner! I can't tell you how many times I made a huge mess with things leaking around the edges of my old Cuisinart when I over-filled or had high liquid ingredients. But enough gushing, let me tell you about its features.

The Power
Bread making is number one in my need for power. And you probably already know that I LOVE to push appliances to their limits! Bread kneading is a real task for any appliance and the Cuisinart Elite 14-Cup has 1000 watts of power to attack any size recipe I want to make. The exclusive DOUGH Control Button gears down the speed (RPM) of the motor to provide the perfect speed for kneading heavier bread doughs.

The Size
With power comes a larger size, but the Cuisinart Elite's base is beautiful! The smooth brushed die cast metal is a complete redesign and in my opinion, marks the NEXT GENERATION in food processors.

Work Bowls
Cuisinart Elite Food Processor Work BowlsThe Cuisinart Elite Collection™ 14-Cup Food Processor's biggest innovation is the nested work bowls. The 14-cup work bowl provides room for the 11- and 4½-cup work bowls to fit easily inside so that everything is easy to locate when working in the kitchen. This is also a winner for those of us with SMALL kitchen storage areas.

Each bowl has MAX fill line and measurement marks and pour spouts.

When I took my Cuisinart Food Processor class in 1981, the chef kept explaining that the order of my recipes would have to be reconsidered to how I used the work bowl. The dry things first and then the wet would make for less clean-up and drying of the work bowl. Now I can start with my garlic and herbs in the 4½-cup bowl, lift it out, and fill the 11-cup bowl with my next ingredient and end with the larger ingredient amount in the 14-cup bowl. It might take a little practice, but you'll appreciate the ease and speed of completing your recipes after a bit of experimentation.

No More Leaks
The exclusive SealTight™ Advantage System is designed to deliver maximum bowl capacity and clean processing and pouring. When nested, there is no leakage from bowl to bowl. For instance, if I'm chopping garlic and basil in the small bowl and add vinegar and olive oil at the end, I can lift off the lid and remove the knife blade and bowl without any leaks to the medium or large bowls beneath!

A quick rinse of the lid, and I'm ready for the next recipe.

The Feed Tube
A wide mouth feed tube allows whole fruits and vegetables to be used rather than having to trim or cut into smaller pieces.

The Slice and Shred Discs
Instead of 8 separate slice and shred discs in various sizes, the Cuisinart Elite 14-cup comes packed with an adjustable 6-position slicing disc (1-6mm) and a reversible shredding disc (fine/medium). The slice and shred disc can only be used with the medium and large bowls. Both discs have finger holes to make it safe to attach and detach the discs easily.

Cuisinart Elite Blades
The Blades
A BladeLock feature locks each blade securely in place so that I can pour ingredients from the bowl without having to hold onto the blade with my finger inserted in the bottom. This feature is a bonus and saves clean-up messes that resulted in dropping the prior model's blade into a batter or bowl when a my finger slipped. Thanks Cuisinart!

Cuisinart Elite Storage Case
The Storage Case

A handsome storage case is provided with the Cuisinart Elite 14-Cup model that houses the slice and shred disks, dough blade, chopping/mixing blades, and stem adapter. Keeping everything together and protected is WONDERFUL! Now everything associated with my Cuisinart is in one safe place and remains sharp and clean between uses.

The Exterior
Clean up is a breeze with the brushed die cast metal exterior! No more levers with crevices that need extra cleaning. A simple wipe and clean-ups are DONE!

Recommendation
If you've been wanting to upgrade your food processor, then the Cuisinart Elite-14 Cup Die Cast Metal Food Processor is a WINNER! Retire your older model or give it to someone who is just starting to learn to cook. If your old Cuisinart is like mine, it was just fine, but I was ready for a newer more powerful model.

Just like cars, a Ford will get you to your destination just like a Rolls Royce, but the comfort, power and luxury of the latter is a real consideration.
