Messermeister Knives

When searching for replacement sharpening dowels for the Chantry Knife Sharpener, I found a knife company that I'd never heard about, Messermeister. For me, Wusthof was my first choice for the last 25 years, but as knowledge increases, my Wusthof's have had to move over for my new Messermeister Knives.

My new Messermeister Knives provide me with perfect balance in my hand and cut like Samurai swords through anything I want to slice, dice, or mince. Many of you have asked, "What knives should I purchase?" Well, here are my picks for knives in a vegan kitchen.

Messermeister Kullenschliff Santoku Knife

When I first experienced the Messermeister Kullenschliff Santouku Knife, the weight and fit in my hand made all of my other knives seem like toys. This knife blade is like a Samurai sword, shaper than any knife I've owned or handled in a kitchen setting.

As for the cost, it's a little pricey, but worth every dollar invested. It holds its sharpness unlike any of my other knives and makes cutting, chopping and slicing a dream come true!!

The 7” Kullenschliff Santoku Knife, essentially an Asian Chef's Knife, is an enhanced version of the regular Santoku because of its alternating kullenschliffs along the blade. This is one of the most popular knives in the world. The Meridian Elite is Messermeister's high-end cutlery line, featuring a one-piece fully forged from a single blank of steel.

Meridian Elite knives have a comfortable, traditional styled handle that is riveted to a full tang.

Messermeister Knives have the sharpest edges of all forged cutlery. An elaborate 3 step sharpening process is enhanced in its final step by being carefully hand-polished. Meridian Elite knives are hardened to 56 Rockwell hardness C, making them hard enough to hold their edge for a long period of time, while it is easy to restore their edge with a steel.

8" Scalloped Offset Knife-Meridian Elite 3000 Series
With an offset blade, the 8" Sandwich Knife my hand stays higher above the surface when cutting sandwiches and other similar items. When I used this to slice a hard crusted sour dough baguette, I never hit the cutting board with my knuckles and the slices cut all the way through without any effort! This is a gem in my new Messermeister knives! The scalloped edge assists in precise cutting.
