After several months of experimentation and comparison, I now use the Vitamix-CIA Blender as my primary blender for green smoothies, nut cheese spreads, salad dressings, etc. It's not the power that convinced me, although the power is INCREDIBLE and VARIABLE.

It was the PUSHER TOOL (tamper) that pushed me over the edge! Variable Speed Controls

The Cons

The size of the Vitamix CIA Professional Series is huge and in most cases will not allow the pusher to be in place if stored on the countertop. The size of the unit also makes traveling with it cumbersome. And lastly, the price!

Recommendation

After careful consideration and use, I find the Vitamix CIA Professional Series to be powerful and never disappoints when creating any recipes. The tamper provides that little extra PUSH that makes the Vitamix CIA Professional Series a notch above the other blenders. The dial controls also provide another level of control to get everything blended well.
